AI-driven gains broaden beyond Nvidia and peers; Magnificent Seven index lags while Nasdaq and S&P rise without those seven leading.

Bloomberg's Ryan Vlastelica told Paul Sweeney and Stacey Vanek Smith that the Magnificent Seven have stopped steering the market the way they did. For all the hoopla around artificial intelligence (AI), the Nasdaq 100 is up 16% in 2026 and the S&P 500 has climbed 10%, while an index of the Mag 7 has gained just 1.7%. The segment matters because the AI trade is spreading beyond the usual behemoths, Nvidia, Alphabet, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Tesla, and investors who still treat those seven as the only game may be late to a broader rotation.
