Firstpost’s Vantage highlighted a 6 AM layoff email that stunned staff as Oracle moved to cut about 21,000 jobs in one wave. At the same time Oracle is pouring billions into artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, spending on data centers, chips, servers, cooling, networking and power and shifting the company toward a capital-heavy, labor-light model. For investors this matters because it sets up two outcomes: faster margin expansion and higher returns on installed hardware if execution goes well, or a period of heavier capital spending and execution risk that could pressure cash flow before benefits appear.
